What is the material used in the center core of your glass charms?

The material we use in the center of our glass charms is sterling silver. We use only the highest quality 925 sterling silver available. These cores are made from sterling silver tubing that is cut to proper length and then the ends are flared and hammered into place onto the glass charm. Each silver core is made to precisely fit each glass bead charm. Our artist, Doug Clark, does not use pre-made end caps, like many others do. Since these silver cores are made for each individual bead, there is no need for glue. Doug also highly polishes the cores after they are crafted in place. Handcrafting silver cores is a time consuming process, but produces a much higher quality product in the end.

What are your shipping rates?

Our shipping rates vary for locations and the desired speed of delivery. For a full explanation of our shipping information, please see our Shipping page. We take great care in shipping our products and every item is carefully packaged and well protected. Many items are mailed the next business day. Our custom order glass charms for Trollbeads and Pandora are shipped in about seven days from the order date.



Is shopping at Eagle Bay Designs secure?

Yes, our web store uses Yahoo! Stores' security systems. Our Yahoo! Store uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption when transmitting certain kinds of information, such as financial services information or payment information. Anytime we are sent credit card information during checkouts for payment, it will be SSL encrypted.

Our web store is also CISP compliant. This system was created by Visa and MasterCard. The Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) outlines a standard for security procedures for merchants and service providers that store, process, or transmit cardholder data.


How durable are your lampwork glass bead charms?

Our lampwork glass beads are very durable. Doug's beads have been put through a special process called annealing. After he crafts them in a flame, he puts them in a kiln (like a very hot oven) which is set at over 900 degrees. After a time of bathing in the kiln, the beads are allowed to cool slowly and over the course of the next few hours are brought down to room temperature. (Our kiln is digitally controlled.)

This whole process is the key to making them very durable. Annealed glass beads should last a lifetime.


Are Pandora and Trollbeads brand charms compatible with each other?

Well, the simple answer is that all Pandora charms or beads will slide onto a Trollbeads bracelet or necklace. Trollbeads products will not fit Pandora brand chains. (Except for a few scarce beads I am told.) To add to this, there is also another brand named Chamilia, which is also of beautiful quality. Their charms are completely compatible with Pandora.
